Praia dos Carneiros
Considered by many to be the most beautiful beach of Pernambuco’s coast due to its natural beauty, Praia dos Carneiros has been set to weddings and honey-moons. Its 5km extension is skirted by palm trees; the water is crystal clear and warm and it sits in a scenario molded by the Formoso River estuary and by a 1km wall of reefs. The natural pools and sand banks offer a spectacle of unique colors. It’s a little piece of heaven that deserves to be visited, and its scenery is almost the same as in the beginning of the century. It allows natural anchorage of small boats during low tide and medium boats during high tide. It is highly recommended to visit the Church of Saint Benedict, built in the XVIII century, of simple architecture that combines to the beauty of the place, on the shore of Formoso River.
